This week has been incredibly tragic. Hurricane Helene has brought the loss of life, lifetimes of possessions, and the destruction of much of Tennessee and North Carolina. Many people are looking for the best way to help the relief efforts. But, as many of you know your gift to many organizations might not go directly to this disaster and might get lumped into more general funds. If you want to ensure that your financial gift is going to the right place, work with Water By Women. Sawyer has stepped forward to donate filters and we are covering the needs of first responders to get those filters out to those affected and provide training for the people of Erwin and points south in Tennessee. This is an emerging situation so more cities and regions will come online as we make more connections and inroads in the communities affected.
Erwin is the first area that we have made a relationship with and are committed to bringing supplies to them beginning today 10/1. For reference, Erwin is about one hour north of Black Mountain Tennessee. Tragically, the water system in Asheville has been majorly compromised by the flooding and damage and could take months to bring back online. People on the ground need the ability to create clean, sanitary drinking water for themselves and their families. We are mobilized to continue to spread our mission throughout the region.
We are hearing so much sadness, suffering, and pain from our friends in the region. Water is paramount to life. Families need clean water. We need to help them now. Please keep an eye on this page and we will continue to update it with relevant information as we learn more and we make more relationships with more affected communities in the area.
